News | December 2013 - Bunge completes sale of their 50% interest in a joint venture to produce fertilizer products in Morocco to OCP for $37 million.
February 10, 2009 - Bunge’s joint venture phosphate
project in Jorf Lasfar, Morocco, is on schedule to begin making fertilizers
in 2010, the company said on Tuesday.
The operation would serve as an additional source of phosphate-based raw
materials and intermediate products for Bunge’s fertilizer business in South
America, said Bunge chief financial officer Jacqualyn Fouse at the Goldman
Sachs Agricultural Biotech Forum.
The 50-50 joint venture with Morocco’s Office Cherifien des Phosphates (OCP)
would have a capacity to produce about 625,000 tonnes/year of mono-ammonium
phosphate (MAP) and tri-sodium phosphate (TSP), Fouse said.
May 22, 2007 - Bunge has formed a 375,000 tonne/year
phosphate fertilizer joint venture in Morocco to supply markets in Brazil
and Latin America, the US-based firm said on Tuesday. The $350m (€259m) joint venture with Morocco’s Office
Cherifien des Phosphates (OCP) was expected to be fully operational in 2010,
Bunge said.
The 50:50 joint venture will build new plants at Jorf Lasfar, Morocco, to
produce 375,000 P2O5
tonnes/year of phosphoric acid, a triple superphosphate/monoammonium
phosphate (TSP/MAP) granulation plant with a capacity of 270,000 tonnes/year
and a granulation unit to produce 340,000 tonnes/year of MAP/diammonium
phosphate (DAP).
The new supply would be for
shipment to Brazil, Argentina and other markets in Latin America, White
Plains, New York-based Bunge said.
Morocco’s OCP produces over 25m tonnes/year of phosphate rock and owns a
large share of the world's phosphate reserves, according to Bunge.
OCP and Bunge said that they considered this partnership as a natural
extension to their long term relationship and a major step towards future
and broader collaboration. |
