- Prayon will roll out its new sulphuric acid production unit in Engis,
Belgium. Known as Sulfine, the
€50-million facility is the result of unique technological innovation and a
long-term strategy for the Engis site.
This technological advance is also an environmental advance for Prayon, as
the new unit will harness the power of cogeneration to slash the site's CO2
emissions by 43%. The Sulfine
investment also created 15 direct jobs.
"Thanks to the combined efforts of our employees, the financial support of
our shareholders and the support of the Walloon Region authorities, we were
able to build this sulphuric acid production plant, which also generates
steam and electricity without emitting CO2", says Prayon CEO Yves
Caprara. "Industrial ecology is an everyday concern for us, and will help
ensure the long-term survival of our company." |
