Background |
1930 – The first workshop for production of ground rock phosphate
with capacity of 200 thousand tonnes per year was put into operation.
It was the first workshop of the enterprise, which was eventually named
Voskresensk Chemical Workshop. 1931 – First tonnes of mineral fertilizers were produced. 1939 – Production of contact sulphuric acid was launched. 1966 – A complex for production of contact sulphuric acid was put into operation. 1975-1980 – Active sulphuric acid workshop No. 3, phosphoric acid workshop No. 4, and MAP workshop No. 2 were put into operation. The mineral fertilizers output increased, and the inefficient production units were decommissioned. 2006 – The Company’s shareholding structure was reorganized by merger of Kormophos, CJSC (production of phosphorus based fodder additives) and GOP, CJSC (extraction of rock phosphate on Egorievsk deposit) with Voskresensk Mineral fertilizers, OJSC. June, 2008 – Voskresensk Mineral fertilizers, OJSC was included into URALCHEM, OJSC. |

business activities and developed the production capacities of recently
acquired Apatit, Voskresensk Mineral Fertilisers and Balakovo Mineral
Fertilisers. PhosAgro is a Russian vertically integrated company and one of the world’s leading producers of phosphate-based fertilisers. Its core line of business is the production of phosphate-based fertilisers, high-grade phosphate rock (P2O5>35.7%), and also feed phosphates, nitrogen fertilisers and ammonia. PhosAgro’s primary assets include Apatit, PhosAgro-Cherepovets (established as a result of the merger of Ammophos and Cherepovetsky Azot), Agro-Cherepovets, Balakovo branch of OJSC Apatit, Metachem, PhosAgro-Trans, PhosAgro-Region and NIUIF.
