General | This site roast molybdenum concentrates, mainly from Mexican or North American origin, to produce molybdenum oxide. The current installed capacity is 22 million pounds of molybdenum contained in concentrates per year, approximately 18,500 Metric Tons of concentrates. Output gases from the roasting process are cleaned by a scrubbing plant and then fed to a sulfuric acid plant. There the gases are converted to sulfuric acid, a product that is sold in the domestic Mexican market. |
