The following sequence of pictures illustrates the erection of a tower shell.
Initial positioning of the tower shell in preparation for the lift. |
Two cranes are used to lift the vessel off the ground. The main crane is positioned at the top of the vessel while a second crane is used to lift the bottom |
Vessel is lifted clear of the cradles the supported the vessel in the horizontal position. |
Lifting of the vessel to the vertical position. |
Once the vessel is in the vertical position the crane that was used to control the bottom of the vessel is removed. |
Lifting of the vessel into the support structure. |
Lowering of the vessel onto its support structure. |
